Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 / hour (Based on experience)

GLS Painting is looking for a top-tier Lead Painter to head our residential exterior and interior projects across the Des Moines metro. We hold our work to the highest standard, and we need a seasoned craftsman who takes serious pride in running a tight, efficient, and high-quality job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Leadership: Run 2–3 person crews daily, manage job pacing, and ensure deadlines are met without sacrificing quality.
- Technical Execution: operation of airless spray equipment, precision brushwork, and thorough prep (rot repair, scraping, caulking, and complete masking).
- Client Communication: Serve as the professional, on-site face of GLS Painting for homeowner walk-throughs and daily updates.
Mandatory Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional residential painting experience.
- No Fear of Heights: 100% comfortable working off 28'–32'+ extension ladders, roof pitches, and staging.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to consistently lift, carry, and maneuver 80+ lbs (heavy extension ladders, 5-gallon paint buckets, equipment).
- Reliability: Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and dependable personal transportation.
- Punctuality & Standards: On time every morning with high attention to detail from setup to final cleanup.
