Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Program Lead for our After School program, a vital role that inspires and guides children through engaging educational and recreational activities. As a Program Lead, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and develop essential life skills. Duties
- Lead and supervise after-school activities, ensuring all children are engaged and supported in a safe environment
- Manage classroom dynamics through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that includes educational games, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and team-building exercises
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response plans
- Collaborate with staff to plan special events, youth group activities, and community outreach initiatives
- Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Foster inclusive environments that support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or additional behavioral support
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, camp programs, or youth groups
- Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles
- Experience facilitating youth development programs or leading outdoor activities in various settings
- Background in teaching or tutoring young children with an understanding of behavior management techniques
- Prior leadership experience in team settings or supervising staff members working with children
- Knowledge of special education strategies and Christian counseling is a plus but not required
