About The Position
JP Electric is a growing electrical contracting company looking for an organized, motivated person to join our team as an Office & Operations Coordinator.
This is a new and developing position with the opportunity to learn our business and take on increasing responsibility over time. Initial responsibilities will focus on administrative support, scheduling, ordering and receiving materials, and keeping job information organized in our CRM system.
As you learn our company and processes, the position will grow to include customer communication, service scheduling, coordination with our electricians, and additional office and operational responsibilities.
Electrical or trades experience is helpful, but not required. We are more interested in finding someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable learning new systems, communicates well, and takes initiative.
What You'll Do
Initial responsibilities will include:
- Order materials and supplies for upcoming electrical jobs
- Receive materials and verify orders
- Help ensure electricians have the materials they need for scheduled work
- Schedule and coordinate jobs
- Enter and maintain job and customer information in our CRM system
- Assist with administrative tasks and paperwork
- Communicate with vendors and electrical supply houses
- Track open items, orders, and scheduling needs and follow up when necessary
- Help maintain an organized office and workflow
As you become familiar with the business, responsibilities may expand to include:
- Answering incoming customer calls
- Scheduling service appointments
- Communicating with customers regarding appointments and job coordination
- Helping coordinate electricians' schedules and daily workloads
- Assisting with additional purchasing, administrative, and operational needs
- Taking ownership of additional office responsibilities as the company grows
Who We're Looking For
The right person for this position is someone who:
- Is highly organized and pays attention to details
- Is dependable and follows through on commitments
- Is comfortable learning new software and technology
- Can manage several priorities without losing track of details
- Communicates professionally and comfortably with different types of people
- Notices when something needs attention and takes initiative to address it
- Is willing to ask questions and learn
- Enjoys solving everyday problems rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do
- Wants the opportunity to grow with a small business
Previous experience in administration, scheduling, customer service, purchasing, logistics, construction, or a similar role is helpful.
Electrical experience is not required. We are happy to teach the electrical and industry-specific aspects of the position to the right person.
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are preferred but not required, as the position may occasionally involve driving a company vehicle for errands, material pickup, or other business needs.
Schedule
25–40 hours per week
We expect this position to begin at approximately 25–30 hours per week while the employee learns our systems and responsibilities are transitioned into the role.
We are also open to full-time employment for the right candidate, particularly for someone interested in growing with the position and taking on additional responsibilities as they become familiar with the business.
Qualified applicants seeking either part-time or full-time work are encouraged to apply. We believe in the importance of work-life balance and can accommodate some schedule flexibility for personal needs.
Compensation & Growth
$20–$24 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
This is a new position within our growing company, and we expect the role to develop over time. We are looking for someone who would like the opportunity to grow into the position rather than simply perform a fixed list of tasks.
We don't expect the person we hire to already know everything about electrical work or our CRM system. We do expect someone who is motivated to learn, stays organized, follows through, and can gradually take ownership of their responsibilities.
Increased responsibility and compensation follow as the role develops.
Benefits
Eligible employees receive paid time off and paid holidays following an introductory period.
Additional benefits are available and negotiable as the position and hours develop.
