Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial operations within the Utilities Industry. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in corporate finance, regulatory compliance, financial analysis, and strategic planning. This executive role requires a visionary leader capable of guiding fiscal management, risk assessment, and business development initiatives to support sustainable growth and industry compliance. The CFO will oversee all financial activities, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and COSO frameworks while fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and industry regulations.
- Oversee financial reporting, interpretation of financial statements, and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and other relevant standards.
- Manage budgeting processes, expense control, cost management, and financial forecasting analysis to optimize profitability.
- Lead treasury management activities including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Supervise accounting functions such as corporate accounting, governmental accounting, tax accounting, cost accounting, and payroll management.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory reporting requirements including ASC 606, IFRS standards, and industry-specific regulations.
- Oversee risk analysis and risk management initiatives to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Lead mergers & acquisitions activities including due diligence, valuation analysis, negotiation, and integration efforts.
- Drive business development efforts through fundraising initiatives and strategic partnerships to support organizational growth.
- Develop financial projection models for long-term planning and scenario analysis.
- Manage internal controls in accordance with COSO framework to enhance operational integrity.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on corporate strategy development and performance measurement.
- Supervise finance team members ensuring professional development and effective performance management.
Experience
- Proven senior leadership experience as a Vice President or in a similar executive finance role within the utilities or related industries.
- Extensive background in corporate finance including revenue management, profit & loss oversight, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance (GAAP, IFRS/IAS), risk analysis, tax accounting, and governmental accounting standards.
- Strong experience with SOX compliance, internal controls implementation (COSO), and financial software systems.
- Successful track record in mergers & acquisitions, business development funding, strategic planning, and market analysis.
- Skilled in financial report writing and interpretation for executive decision-making purposes.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams with excellent negotiation skills and strategic management capabilities.
- Industry knowledge of financial regulations specific to the utilities sector is highly desirable.

Pay: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
