Overview
The In-Home Care position is designed for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to providing high-quality care to seniors in their own homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, with experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and memory care.
Duties
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and changes in condition.
- Medications reminder
- Assist with care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients through regular cleaning and organization.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Observe patients for any changes in behavior or health status and report findings to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer’s or dementia through specialized care techniques.
Skills
- Proficient in First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in group homes or nursing homes is preferred.
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Familiarity with home & community care practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Experience in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary restrictions.
- Understanding of caregiving principles for seniors, including memory care techniques.
- Capability to develop and follow individualized care plans effectively.
- Previous experience working with individuals who have autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
