Overview
- Provide specialized care to oncology patients as an Advanced Practice Provider in a collaborative healthcare setting.
- Work alongside physicians to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Perform advanced procedures, including bone marrow biopsies, and manage treatment-related toxicities effectively.
- Engage in professional development to stay updated on the latest oncology practices and innovations.
- Contribute to a patient-centered culture that prioritizes empathy and excellence in care delivery.
- Participate in advanced care planning and address primary care concerns within hematology/oncology.
- Support the organization’s mission by delivering high-quality and compassionate oncology care.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including interviews and physical examinations, to evaluate health status.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies to inform treatment decisions.
- Prescribe medications and oncology treatments, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Round on hospitalized patients, providing comprehensive care and support during their stay.
- Assist physicians with triage, medication management, and patient care coordination.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment by adhering to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Take one outpatient 24-hour call shift annually during holidays to support patient needs.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science (MS) degree in a relevant field is required.
- National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP, or PA-C is mandatory.
- Active Oregon state license (APRN or PA) or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
- Current DEA license and proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
- Preferred certifications in oncology (AOCNP) or palliative care are advantageous.
- Experience managing chemotherapy and immunotherapy toxicities is highly valued.
- Strong technical and computer skills to support clinical operations effectively.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care and contributing to organizational success.
