We are seeking a passionate and dedicated NYS Licensed Early Childhood Special Education (SWD) Preschool Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other pedagogical approaches, to support diverse learning styles and developmental needs.
- Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and other core subjects tailored for preschool-aged children.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate children with special needs, utilizing techniques in behavior management, early intervention, and child welfare to promote positive classroom behavior.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor each child's progress and inform instructional adjustments.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support children’s developmental goals through integrated activities.
- Manage classroom environments effectively by maintaining organized spaces conducive to active learning and child safety.
- Foster strong communication with parents and caregivers through regular updates on child progress, behavioral observations, and developmental milestones.
- Support childcare responsibilities such as toddler care, daycare routines, and ensuring a nurturing atmosphere that promotes emotional security.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, teaching physical education, tutoring techniques, and innovative classroom management practices.
- Participate in team meetings, curriculum development sessions, and school events to enhance program quality and community engagement.
Experience
- Valid NYS License as an Early Childhood Students with Disabilities grades birth - 2 Preschool Teacher demonstrating expertise in special education for preschool-aged children.
- Proven experience working with young children in educational settings such as preschools, daycare centers, or private schools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, including early intervention strategies for children with disabilities.
- Hands-on experience developing curriculum content that incorporates literacy education, math fundamentals, and Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively in diverse classroom environments.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for early learners and experience utilizing assessment data to guide instruction.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, engaging parents, and advocating for children's needs.
- Prior experience working with students requiring special education services or in inclusive classrooms is preferred.
- Knowledge of child welfare practices ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all children. Pay: $72,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
