Goal Line Health is seeking compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to join our team and become a vital part of empowering individuals on their journey to recovery and wellness. In this role, you will provide compassionate peer support, utilizing your lived experience and professional skills to foster hope, resilience, and independence. Your energetic and motivational approach will help clients navigate mental health challenges, co-occurring disorders, and addiction recovery with confidence and dignity. Responsibilities
- Offer peer support through active listening, mentoring, and motivational interviewing techniques to inspire clients toward positive change.
- Assist individuals in crisis by implementing crisis intervention strategies and managing emergency situations with professionalism and calmness.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop personalized recovery plans that incorporate harm reduction principles and behavioral health best practices.
- Support clients in developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and social skills to enhance their independence
- Encourage hope, recovery, and self-advocacy through shared lived experience.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions using electronic health record (EHR) systems while respecting confidentiality, privacy standards, and complete in a timely manner.
- Provide education on addiction counseling, mental health conditions, and available community resources to promote self-sufficiency.
- Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system and community settings, ensuring they receive comprehensive support.
- Connect individuals with community resources and natural supports
- Collaborate with clinicians and members of the treatment team.
Requirements
- Lived experience with mental health conditions or co-occurring disorders that qualifies you as a peer support specialist.
- Demonstrated knowledge of crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health principles.
- Experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges or addiction issues; familiarity with social work or counseling is preferred.
- Strong mentoring skills combined with the ability to motivate others through empathetic communication.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and case management purposes.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness or social marginalization.
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is highly desirable. Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification required.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within your assigned service area.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for serving others and supporting recovery.
