Cypress Communication Systems is looking for an experienced Lead Structured Cabling Technician to join a team that holds itself to a high standard.
We are a structured cabling and low-voltage contractor working across New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Our team builds and maintains the voice, data, and network infrastructure that keeps schools, businesses, and facilities running. What you will do:
As Lead Technician, you will run installations from the ground up: pulling and terminating Category 6 and fiber optic cable, reading and interpreting drawings, overseeing apprentices and junior technicians, and ensuring every job meets our quality standard before you walk off the site. You will be the person our clients and project managers rely on, and you will have the authority and support to get the job done right.

What we are looking for:
- 3 to 5 years of structured cabling experience, including Cat6 and fiber optic systems
- ES-3J, ES-7J, or EE-98J license (required)
- BICSI Installer or Technician certification (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a crew
- Strong working knowledge of inside and outside plant
- Fire alarm and security system experience is a plus
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- Your own basic hand tools
- A high school diploma or GED
Physical requirements:
- Able to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
- Able to distinguish colors and read small print
- Able to travel within New Mexico and Southern Colorado as needed
