Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Class A & Class C Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks and box trucks. Your primary focus will be delivering freight efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries of freight and hazardous materials when applicable.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper securing of goods on flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, or tankers.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while complying with DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials, ensuring proper documentation and safety procedures are followed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class C commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery.
- Proficiency in operating semi-trucks and box trucks.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling processes.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely; forklift certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of load securing techniques and cargo safety procedures.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
