Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and budget analysis to support organizational decision-making.
- Process payroll accurately while adhering to relevant tax regulations and payroll laws.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and tax experience to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with bookkeeping, including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation with precision.
- Excellent understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, and financial concepts essential for accurate bookkeeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as budgeting, tax preparation, and 10-key typing efficiently.
