Durham family seeking an experienced, full-time nanny and family assistant. Please read the must-haves first so we only connect with the right fit.
This role is a match for you if you:
- Are available Monday through Friday, 12:00 to 6:00 PM, ongoing (about 30 to 40 hours per week)
- Have a valid US driver's license and a clean driving record, and are comfortable driving our kids in a car we provide
- Are a confident, strong swimmer (we have a home pool and water safety is essential)
- Have at least 2 years of paid childcare experience, ideally with more than one school-aged child
- Are CPR-certified or willing to become certified (we cover it), and able to pass a background check after an offer

Schedule and responsibilities: Monday through Friday, roughly 12 to 6 PM. Afternoons are hands-on childcare: school pickup, driving to activities, snacks, homework help, and active play. The midday hours are a mix of light family-assistant tasks (kids' laundry, dishes, prepping school lunches, light organizing, errands) and prep before pickup. No screen time during the day. Comfortable with a friendly senior dog in the home (no dog care required). Spanish is a wonderful bonus, not required.
About us: We are an active, family-oriented household with three kids (8, 7, and 4) in South Durham. Both parents work from home, so you will have a true partner in the day to day. Compensation and benefits: Pay starts at $30 per hour and up, based on experience (paid legally, W-2; overtime over 40 hours per week). Monthly health insurance stipend. Paid time off. Mileage reimbursement for any personal-vehicle use (we provide a vehicle for transporting the kids). Guaranteed hours. CPR certification and a background check, including a motor vehicle record, are completed after we make an offer.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
