Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating skid steer loaders to assist with various production activities; including material handling, loading and unloading, transporting materials, processing, site clean-up and other tasks as needed. Expertise in heavy equipment operation will ensure projects progress efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of skid steer machinery, general daily equipment PMs, and safety regulations, contributing to the successful completion of diverse daily projects.

Job Title: Skid Steer Operator / Material Handler
Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday 10 pm to 6 am
Key Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer loaders safely and efficiently to move materials, debris, and equipment.
- Load, unload, stockpile, and transport raw materials, finished products, and waste materials.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, grading, and general labor as needed.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre- and post-operation checklists.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operating procedures.
- Work with supervisors and team members to meet production and project schedules.
- Assist with inventory movement and material storage.
- Assist with other production/warehouse tasks daily as needed such as shoveling and hand dumping materials (hand dumping not to exceed 50 lbs. maximum weight)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to execute production processing, materials mixing, site cleanup, and other related tasks as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience operating skid steer loaders is required.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including skids steers, forklifts, and loaders is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations and equipment safety procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving is advantageous.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience operating a skid steer loader required (1–3 years required).
- Experience with material handling in construction, manufacturing, recycling, landscaping, or industrial environments preferred.
- Ability to read and understand safety procedures and work instructions.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- OSHA or equipment operation certifications are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of equipment inspection and basic preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor and industrial work environment.
- Exposure to moving machinery, heavy equipment, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow, supporting production goals, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
