About the Role
Medi-Ops is a specialized medical logistics company providing time-critical transport of organs, tissue, and other life-saving medical cargo. Our On-Board Courier team is the final link in a chain that saves lives — and we're looking for reliable, composed individuals who can move fast when it matters most.
This is an on-call, per-assignment position with flexible scheduling. You won't work a traditional shift — you'll be called between midnight and 4:00 AM when an order comes in, dispatched for a same-day mission, and typically home by evening.
What You'll Do
- Receive assignment calls between midnight and 4:00 AM and confirm availability for same-day dispatch.
- Perform early-morning pickup of medically packaged cargo (organs, tissue, or other critical biological materials) from hospitals, procurement teams, or designated facilities.
- Drive to the departure airport and board a commercial or charter flight as a personal escort for the cargo.
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and follow all handling protocols throughout transport.
- Deliver cargo to the receiving facility upon arrival and obtain necessary signatures.
- Return home same day in most cases; hotel accommodations provided when overnight stays are required.
Flight costs, airport parking, hotel on overnight stays, and per diem are all covered by the company.
What We Are Looking For
- Must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to be on-call and respond to early-morning dispatch calls.
- Comfortable flying commercially, including last-minute bookings to any domestic destination.
- Calm, professional demeanor — you may be moving through hospitals and airports under time pressure.
- Reliable personal vehicle for pickup and airport transit.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow handling and documentation procedures precisely.
- TSA PreCheck or willingness to enroll (preferred).
Preferred Background
- Experience in medical transport, courier services, EMS, or logistics.
- Familiarity with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Prior on-call or shift-flexible work history.
