Job Title: - Maternal Fetal Sonographer
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 Weeks with again possible extension (BI02)
Shift: Days | Day 5x8-Hour (07:45 - 17:00)
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maternal Fetal Sonographer for a high-risk obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience performing advanced fetal and obstetrical ultrasound examinations, including detailed anatomy scans, growth studies, Doppler assessments, and amniocentesis support.
This role requires a sonographer who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced maternal-fetal medicine environment while providing exceptional patient care to high-risk pregnancy patients.
Key Responsibilities
Maternal-Fetal & OB Ultrasound
- Perform first, second, and third trimester obstetrical ultrasound examinations.
- Conduct detailed fetal anatomical surveys and growth assessments.
- Evaluate fetal anatomy including:
- Head and brain structures
- Heart
- Abdomen
- Diaphragm
- Extremities and bone lengths
- Cerebellum and ventricles
- Fingers and toes
- Gender determination
- Perform amniotic fluid index (AFI) measurements.
- Assess placenta location and identify placenta previa.
- Perform umbilical cord Doppler studies.
- Evaluate multiple gestations and high-risk pregnancies.
- Obtain inter-orbital and intra-orbital fetal measurements.
Maternal-Fetal Procedures
- Assist physicians during amniocentesis procedures.
- Perform cervical length assessments and transvaginal ultrasound examinations.
- Support diagnostic evaluations for complex maternal-fetal conditions.
Patient Care & Documentation
- Provide compassionate care and education to obstetric patients.
- Maintain accurate imaging documentation and reports.
- Complete charting and image documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, sonographers, clinical assistants, and office staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal Fetal Sonography experience.
- Previous travel assignment experience required.
- Current ARDMS OB/GYN certification.
- Current BLS certification.
