Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction (K-12 Projects)
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX
Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist inseeking a Senior Estimator to take a lead role within their preconstruction team. This individual will be responsible for driving estimates, mentoring team members, and serving as a key point of contact throughout the bidding process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the estimating process for multiple projects simultaneously
- Serve as the point person for a team of 4 estimators
- Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing
- Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and value engineering efforts
- Support project handoff to operations teams upon award
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor
- Strong leadership ability with experience leading or mentoring a team
- Experience in commercial construction (K-12 preferred but not required)
- Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing strategies
- Proficiency in estimating software and takeoff tools
