Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor
Primary Function: Keep buildings and surrounding areas in clean and orderly condition
Major Duties:

Dust, sweep, scrub, wax, polish and mop floors using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines

Clean rugs, carpets, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers
-
Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal
-
Clean classrooms, dorms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways and other work areas so that health and safety standards are met

May change and replace light bulbs and clean lenses as directed

Clean and restocks paper and soap supplies in restrooms

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Clean outside of buildings: windows, sidewalks, and entry areas

Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment

Ability to understand verbal instructions and follow safety procedures

Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment

Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning supplies

Must work well as a team to meet the needs of students, employees and university offices

Ability to drive
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

Must be ambulatory around campus and in buildings

Required to regularly sit and stand

Ability to bend, stoop and lift

Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects

Ability to talk to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly
- Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information
-
Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 50+lbs
