Job Overview
As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care and transportation for patients in urgent situations. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, administer appropriate treatments, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities. Your expertise in emergency medicine will be vital in delivering high-quality care during life-threatening situations.
Duties
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls, provide on-site medical care, and transport patients to medical facilities.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Basic Life Support: Administer CPR, control bleeding, immobilize fractures, and manage airway obstructions
- Administer emergency medical care, including airway management and medication administration.
- Perform physical examinations and provide critical care as needed.
- Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to Level II Trauma Centers or other medical facilities while monitoring their condition and ensuring their well-being during transit.
- Collaboration: Work closely with paramedics, firefighters, and other emergency personnel to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Medical Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all medical equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use. Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Training and Compliance: Maintain current EMT certification and attend regular training sessions. Adhere to all company policies and protocols.
Qualification;Skills
- Certified as an EMT by a recognized institution.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficient in airway management techniques and emergency medicine protocols.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to assess patients effectively.
- Experience with critical care practices, including medication administration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist patients as required during transport.
- Familiarity with the operations of a Level II Trauma Center and its protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Strong physical stamina and emotional stability
