DEFINITION:
The Apprenticeship Advisor (Temporary Full-Time) provides direct student support, career and apprenticeship advising, job search assistance and employment preparation into Cape Fear Community College’s apprenticeship programs. This position guides prospective and current apprentices through the apprenticeship enrollment and registration process, including eligibility requirements and job search assistance, and responds to general inquiries from the public regarding apprenticeship programs, career pathways, and related college services.
This position will also assist with the recruitment of prospective apprentices and the planning, organizing, and participating in apprenticeship-focused recruitment activities, information sessions and events. This role conducts targeted outreach to prospective apprentices; and delivers presentations and information sessions to promote apprenticeship programs. Additionally, this role will support other apprenticeship staff as needed.
***This is a full-time, temporary, grant-funded position supported by a three-year grant, expiring May 31,2029 with the potential to be extended.***
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Receives direct supervision from the Director of Apprenticeships.

Receives general supervision from the Senior Director, Apprenticeships & Workforce Partnerships.

Exercises no supervision.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:

Assist in reporting on key metrics such as enrollment growth, retention, course completion, credential attainment, wage progression, and apprenticeship completion rates

Coordinate with employers, apprenticeship staff, and internal teams to support apprentice placement and ongoing success

Support Manager, Apprenticeships with coordination of apprenticeship outreach events such as, campus visits, prospective apprentice information sessions and events, in-person and virtual information sessions, employer engagement events, and other similar programs.

Partner with the Work-Based Learning staff to align apprenticeship efforts with paid work opportunities for CFCC students.

Respond to electronic and phone information requests from prospective apprentices, including enrollment steps, job search assistance, and college services.

Provide direct student support and individualized career and apprenticeship advising to individuals interested in Cape Fear Community College apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs

Assisting prospective apprentices with job search activities, including, but not limited to, resume development, interview preparation, and employer referrals

Guide prospective and current apprentices through the apprenticeship enrollment and registration process, including eligibility requirements, documentation, and timelines

Communicate, track, monitor, and follow up with apprenticeship inquiries to support recruitment and enrollment efforts

Collaborate with and assist Manager, Apprenticeships with implementation of effective recruitment strategies and maintaining accurate database of apprentice recruitment and outreach efforts.

Represent and promote CFCC at college fairs, school visits, community events and functions, and other recruitment activities

Coordinate special projects and other assigned tasks.
Other Important Functions:

Assist in the promotion, planning, and coordination of activities and events within Economic & Workforce Development.

Participate in the enforcement of the Rights and Privacy Act.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Candidates are required to submit OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS for all degrees obtained prior to their first day of work or hire date. If highest level of education is High School diploma or equivalent, proof of completion is required.

Candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master's degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.
