New Cumberland Federal Credit Union (NCFCU) is seeking a Full-Time Head Teller to join our team at our New Cumberland branch location! The Head Teller is responsible for overseeing daily teller operations, including cash management, branch balancing, and ATM settlement, while ensuring strict adherence to Credit Union policies and regulatory requirements. This role supports trains, and coaches teller staff to deliver accurate transactions and exceptional member service. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Head Teller actively performs teller functions, assists with account and lending activities, and serves as a key point of contact for member inquiries and issue resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train, coach, and support new and existing tellers to ensure strong performance and adherence to procedures.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to staff on member service, operational procedures, and problem resolution.
- Contribute input and feedback for employee performance evaluations.
- Oversee and manage vault cash, ensuring levels remain within established limits.
- Receive and verify incoming cash shipments; distribute cash to tellers and prepare shipments as needed.
- Monitor teller drawer limits and ensure proper cash handling practices are consistently followed.
- Perform daily branch settlement and closing procedures, including ATM balancing and settlement.
- Ensure all cash and check handling activities comply with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain working knowledge of BSA, FACT Act, and internal policies, ensuring team adherence.
- Support audit processes by assisting with monthly audits and ensuring required reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for escalated member inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Deliver exceptional member service and support staff in handling complex member interactions.
- Actively promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to support branch goals.
- Perform all teller functions, including processing transactions in accordance with Credit Union policies.
- Maintain an active teller drawer with a high level of accuracy.
- Open new accounts, process account changes, and assist members with account-related needs.
- Accept and process loan applications in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Compile month-end reports and assist with operational reporting requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support branch operations.
Position Requirements and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of teller experience in a financial institution; Credit Union experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Lending experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of BSA (Bank Secrecy Act), FACT Act, and general banking regulations.
- Strong understanding of teller operations, cash handling procedures, and branch balancing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with member and organizational information.
- Demonstrated ability to support, train, and guide team members effectively.
