We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across construction projects. Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership
● Lead all aspects of project safety management throughout the construction lifecycle.
● Develop and implement the Project Safety Management Plan.
● Establish project-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards.
● Promote a proactive safety culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
● Provide professional safety guidance to project management and construction teams.
● Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall project safety performance.
Safety Management System
● Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Safety Management System.
● Establish safety objectives, performance indicators, and annual improvement plans.
● Develop project-specific safety procedures, work instructions, and safe work practices.
● Implement hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
● Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), where applicable.
● Develop emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis management protocols.
● Ensure all safety documentation is current and properly maintained.
Construction Safety Management
Provide overall safety oversight for all construction activities, including but not limited to:
● Civil construction
● Structural steel erection
● Mechanical installation
● Electrical installation
● Process equipment installation
● Crane and rigging operations
● Heavy equipment operations
● Work at heights
● Excavation and trenching
● Scaffolding
● Confined space entry
● Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
● Hot work
● Temporary electrical systems
Responsibilities include:
● Conduct routine site inspections and safety audits.
● Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
● Verify compliance with project safety requirements.
● Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
● Monitor housekeeping and overall site conditions.
Regulatory Compliance
● Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1926 and applicable 29 CFR 1910 requirements).
● Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
● Maintain compliance with client safety requirements and contractual obligations.
● Coordinate OSHA inspections and regulatory visits.
● Support client audits and third-party safety assessments.
Contractor Safety Management
● Establish contractor safety expectations during project mobilization.
● Review contractor safety plans and site-specific procedures.
● Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance.
● Conduct contractor safety evaluations and performance reviews.
● Ensure deficiencies are promptly corrected.
● Participate in contractor pre-construction meetings.
Safety Training & Safety Culture
● Develop the project safety training program.
● Conduct new employee safety orientation.
● Ensure all personnel receive required training before beginning work.
● Lead daily toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings.
● Organize emergency response drills and safety campaigns.
● Promote employee participation in safety observation and near-miss reporting programs.
Incident Management
● Lead investigations involving incidents, injuries, property damage, environmental events, and near misses.
● Conduct root cause analyses.
● Develop corrective and preventive action plans.
● Track corrective actions through completion.
● Communicate lessons learned throughout the project organization.
Reporting & Performance Management
● Prepare weekly and monthly safety performance reports.
● Develop leading and lagging safety performance metrics.
● Monitor project safety trends and recommend improvements.
● Present safety performance to project leadership and client representatives.
● Maintain all required safety records and documentation.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
Equivalent construction safety experience may be considered.
Experience
● Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible construction safety experience.
● Experience supporting large industrial or manufacturing construction projects.
● Experience in solar, battery, semiconductor, automotive, pharmaceutical, data center, or advanced manufacturing facilities is preferred.
● Experience working with EPC contractors and subcontractors.
● Demonstrated experience developing and implementing project safety management systems.
● Experience leading project safety teams is preferred.
CertificationsRequired
● OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
● CPR / First Aid Certification
● Valid Driver's License

● CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
● ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
● CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
● OSHA 500 or OSHA 510
● First Aid / CPR Instructor Certification

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
● Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bluebeam, or similar construction management software is preferred.
● Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
Physical Requirements
● Ability to work full-time on an active construction site.
● Ability to walk, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods.
● Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
● Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Pay: $71,881.13 - $96,566.52 per year
