The reporting location for this position is Red Rock Canyon State Park in Cantil, CA. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor.
This position requires the physical agility and capability to carry out tasks assigned to the maintenance function. Responsibilities include but are not limited to litter and garbage collection and disposal; cleaning and maintaining picnic areas, restrooms, offices, and visitor centers; assisting with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, vandalism repairs, road and trail maintenance, fence repairs, and special projects as directed. This position is a uniformed classification and is required to maintain an appearance conforming to Department standards.
The work schedule for this position will be Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00am to 4:30pm. This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
