Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items following standardized recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, stoves, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Support meal preparation by slicing, chopping, cooking, and portioning ingredients accurately
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of orders
- Follow safety protocols during food handling and production to prevent contamination or accidents
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment or culinary setting is preferred; experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining consistency in meal quality
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen team members
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of menu planning, food handling procedures, and cleaning protocols within the food industry
- Understands, willing to learn Spanish.
