Job Summary
In this role, Group-IPS USA is seeking a seasoned Capital Construction Manager to lead on-site execution, manage general contractor performance, and function as our primary representative to the client. IPS’ Capital Construction Manager will serve as a vital point of contact between clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. This position requires a self-starter who thrives across different manufacturing environments and is ready to launch a dynamic career in industrial project management.

Key Responsibilities
- Professionally collaborate with both engineering and non-engineering corporate teams on the client side
- Manage day-to-day construction activities for industrial projects, including structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and civil work.
- Coordinate multiple contractors and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution of work.
- Develop and keep detailed construction schedules in coordination with project teams.
- Monitor progress against schedule and proactively address delays and field issues.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, work packages, and installation plans
- Manage contractor performance, productivity, and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Resolve field conflicts and coordinate interfaces between contractors.
- Track and verify completed work for progress reporting
- Research vendor capabilities, author comprehensive Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, lead technical and commercial procurement meetings
- Project Controls & Reporting
- Provide daily and weekly construction progress updates.
- Monitor labor productivity, schedule performance, and construction costs.
- Support change order evaluation and implementation.
- Participate in project risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Ensure construction activities meet engineering specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
- Verify installation quality through inspections, punch lists, and turnover processes.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Review of contractor quality documentation and inspection reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with national standards, company safety standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Lead daily toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and safety observations.
- Conduct field audits and inspections to name and mitigate hazards.
- Function as a pivotal point of contact for clients, contractors, regulators, and suppliers on the project scope
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and serve as safety reference through all engineering and construction phases of the project
What We Look For (Requirements & Characteristics)
- IPS employees must be able to commute to their work location, IPS office (Conshohocken, PA) and customer’s manufacturing site (to be discussed)
- High flexibility to pivot between multiple projects, industries, and field environments. Ability to work independently and communicate efficiently with team predecessors
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial)
- 3+ years of project management and construction management experience in an industrial environment
- Valid Driver's License. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Proficient with MS Office. Firsthand knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project is highly valued. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and equipment layouts
- Willingness to travel up to 75% across the U.S. and potential to temporarily move for the duration of a project (up to 6+ months).
