Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as pizza ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic workspace
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new toppings or specialty pizzas to enhance customer offerings
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure perfect crusts, toppings, and overall quality
- Handle food preparation tasks including dough stretching, topping application, and ingredient portioning
- Support high-volume production during busy hours while maintaining consistency and presentation standards
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, especially within pizza or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures in commercial kitchens
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment
- Experience with food handling, cooking techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and food production processes
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or menu changes
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings with excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills
