Position Summary
Mainspring is seeking a Part-Time Technical Support Specialist I to assist customers with retail technology support, software setup, hardware configuration, and day-to-day troubleshooting. This position is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, an aptitude for technology, and a desire to build a long-term career in technical support.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote support tools
- Troubleshoot basic software, hardware, and peripheral issues
- Assist with software installations, upgrades, and system configuration
- Configure workstations, receipt printers, barcode scanners, and related equipment
- Document customer interactions and solutions
- Assist with customer onboarding and training
- Participate in implementation and upgrade projects
- Follow up on open support requests
- Escalate advanced issues when appropriate
- Maintain accurate time tracking and project documentation
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable learning new technology and software systems
- Basic computer troubleshooting knowledge
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Retail experience is a plus
- Technical certifications are a plus but not required
Preferred Backgrounds
- Retail management or retail operations
- Retail technology or point-of-sale experience
- Help desk or technical support experience
- Computer repair or electronics troubleshooting
- Technology or electronics sales
- Recent IT, MIS, Business Technology, or Computer Science graduates
- Individuals with strong customer service skills and a passion for technology
Compensation & Benefits
Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
$18-$24 per hour depending on experience
