Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Traveling Registered Nurse (RN) to join our specialized medical team providing GI procedural care—including endoscopies and colonoscopies—for different locations throughout Colorado. This role is ideal for a skilled RN who thrives in a dynamic, high-impact setting and is passionate about providing quality healthcare in underserved environments.
As a Traveling RN, you will work closely with gastroenterologists and correctional healthcare teams to deliver essential GI diagnostic services. The role involves extensive statewide travel, long shifts, and flexible scheduling, often in non-traditional clinical environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist gastroenterologists in performing endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies.
- Prepare and manage procedural rooms, ensuring sterile environments and patient safety protocols are followed.
- Monitor and assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure.
- Document care accurately and efficiently, maintaining compliance with CDCR and facility policies.
- Travel frequently to correctional facilities across Colorado.
- Adapt quickly to varied clinical settings and institutional protocols.
- 4 clinic days + 1 travel day per week
- 12-hour shifts on clinic days
- No call and no weekend shifts
Experience
- Active Colorado RN license (unencumbered)
- BLS and ACLS certification (must be current)
- Requires comfort with IV insertion and EHR/EMR documentation
- Willingness to work long hours and adjust to an unpredictable travel schedule
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work within the security protocols of a correctional facility
