EDU Healthcare is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join our team in beautiful Broward County, Florida. This role will follow a standard Monday-Friday work schedule based on the school calendar. In this vital role, you will help create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment that allows students to thrive academically and personally.

Position Overview:
This is a traditional school nurse role providing care to all students with both chronic and acute health needs. The school clinic operates much like a “mini urgent care,” so strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment and care for both chronic and acute student health needs
- Deliver first aid and emergency care as needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential health records in accordance with District and Department of Health requirements
- Utilize computer systems for documentation and communication
- Provide care for students with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and allergies
- Perform diabetic management, including monitoring and education
- Administer medications (e.g., EpiPen, Glucagon, Diastat)
- Respond to medical needs using CPR, AED, and first aid as needed
- Develop and implement Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs)
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers

Requirements:
- Current, active nursing license issued by the State of Florida (out-of-state licenses are not accepted)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- High school diploma or higher education diploma/certified transcript (as required by BCPS)
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background check through the school district (other fingerprinting sources cannot be accepted)
- Proficiency in computer use for documentation and communication
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
