Description:
SUMMARY: Computes and prepares data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements; performs day-to-day general accounting functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.
- Analyses and reconciles general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for accurate and timely month-end closing produces month-end financial reports and issues for management in a timely manner.
- Reports, analyzes, and interprets financial and operating data for management.
- Reviews account receivable, accounts payable and purchasing transactions for accurate posting to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Performs or reviews daily banking transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Assists with maintaining fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
- Assists with budget preparation.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly journals.
- Performs daily banking procedures.
- Assists with annual external reviews or audits.
- Assists with related special projects as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in accounting or finance or equivalent.
- Three to five years related experience or equivalent.
- Strong accounting skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software (Job Boss, Plex, MAS90, etc.).
- Experienced Microsoft Excel user, competent in MS Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of teams and committees.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
