Micrologic is currently scaling its technology platform, and we are seeking a Lead AWS Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end development and operations of our AWS platform, ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our applications.
As a Lead AWS Engineer, you will be responsible for driving all activities necessary to meet our strategic and operational goals. You will work closely with application architects, senior engineers, engineering and product managers, while engaging with Tech Support, IT, Security, and Customer Success teams as necessary to ensure the platform meets all performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
· Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure AWS infrastructure.
· Lead architecture decisions across compute, networking, storage, and security layers.
· Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
· Drive modernization initiatives (containerization, serverless, event-driven architectures).
Platform Reliability & Operations
· Own uptime, performance, and incident response for AWS-hosted systems.
· Implement observability frameworks (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
· Establish SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs, and runbooks.
· Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement after incidents.
DevOps & CI/CD
· Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
· Improve developer experience through tooling, automation, and environment management.
· Partner with Engineers and champion best practices for deployment, versioning, and release engineering.
Security & Compliance
· Implement AWS security best practices: IAM, KMS, VPC security, Secrets Manager.
· Partner with Security to ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO27001, and data protection standards.
· Conduct regular audits, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation.
Cost Optimization & Governance
· Proactively monitor and optimize AWS spend across services and environments.
· Establish tagging standards, resource governance, and cost visibility dashboards.
· Recommend architectural changes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Technical Leadership
· Lead, supervise, and mentor engineers across platform, DevOps, and backend teams.
· Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Architecture to align cloud strategy with roadmap.
· Drive adoption of cloud standards, patterns, and reusable components.
· Influence long-term platform vision and modernization strategy.
Qualifications
Required
· 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
· Deep expertise with AWS core services: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, API Gateway.
· Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred).
· Hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and serverless.
· Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
· Solid understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems.
· Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
Preferred
· AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps).
· Experience in SaaS, multi-tenant architectures, or high-scale systems.
· Familiarity with observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
· Experience with cost governance and FinOps practices.
· Background in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure leadership.

· Infrastructure is automated, observable, secure, and cost-efficient.
· Engineering teams ship faster due to improved tooling and DevOps workflows.

Pay: From $165,000.00 per year
