Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and a strong understanding of the food and beverage industry. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an enjoyable dining experience by delivering high-quality service, taking orders accurately, and assisting with menu selections.
Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Present menus, take orders, and provide recommendations on food and beverage selections.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables while maintaining attention to detail.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately using POS system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including bussing tables and ensuring proper sanitation practices are followed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and address any guest concerns promptly.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Experience with food handling, food safety practices, and culinary knowledge is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using POS systems
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Basic math skills for accurate billing and cash transactions.
- Previous experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance guest experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Resy or similar reservation systems is helpful.
Toscano Bistro serves Lunch & Dinner 5 days a week.
Closed Sundays & Mondays.
We operate on a tip-pool with ample support staff allowing our servers to do what they do best-- Sell and Serve. We have a full bar with an emphasis on Wine & Cocktails. Outdoor seating during the beautiful spring/ summer/ early Fall months with a view of Mt. Mansfield, 100+/- seat dining room indoors, and a wonderful local clientele. We are located in a growing & busy Williston neighborhood with ample and accessible parking for both staff and patrons.
