Small Animal & Bird Care Specialist 30-40 hours a week/ 10:00 AM start time. (2 days off, some weekends required) *Animal Handling is Required*
All new hires will enter a 90-day trial period with a starting pay of $9. per hour during the trial period. Final pay determined by attendance, productivity, and performance.
Duties:
- Provide care and support for animals in a professional and compassionate manner
- Feed and water animals
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures and living areas
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to supervisor
- Ensure the safety and well-being of animals at all times
Experience:
- Previous experience working with animals, is required. (Small Animals Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Ferrets and Birds.)
- Knowledge of animal behavior is a plus
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with patience and care
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
