About the Role:
As a Respiratory Therapist on our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring residents with respiratory conditions receive the best possible care to promote comfort, safety, and quality of life. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory disorders, including those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and other conditions. You will administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory medications as prescribed, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective respiratory care plans.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory disorders
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory medications as prescribed
- Perform chest physiotherapy, bronchodilator treatments, and other respiratory therapies as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective respiratory care plans
- Monitor patients' conditions and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory therapy techniques and self-care methods
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment plans
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and provide respiratory care treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, ventilator management, and other related procedures
- Monitor resident status and response to therapy, report changes to the physician and care team promptly
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Instruct residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment use and breathing techniques as appropriate
- Document all treatments, observations, and resident responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
Compensation and Schedule:
- $41 - $41 HOURLY
- Full-time position with a night shift schedule
Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Ohio
- Current BLS certification required
- Previous experience in a long-term care, sub-acute, or acute care setting preferred
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
