What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, reconcile accounts payable accounts, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documentation required for audits.
- Review financial status and progress, including past due reporting.
- Analyze reports for weekly bank reporting and cash management.
- Provide expertise and support to the Finance and Accounting team as well as operational leadership.
- Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and policies for accounts payable functions.
- Collaborate with procurement and internal stakeholders on payment terms, vendor relationships, and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounts payable function.
About You as a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Three or more years of accounts payable or accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
- Functional understanding of the general ledger and accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
