The Music Department at South Suburban College is seeking music adjunct faculty teaching the following classes. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, teach credit and non-credit students, collaborate with a diverse faculty and student population, and participate in departmental and college-wide assessment efforts.
PRIVATE APPLIED LESSONS IN OBOE
Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in music performance or music education with a principal instrument in oboe.

Two years college experience in teaching oboe.

Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

A record of ongoing activities within professional organizations.
PRIVATE APPLIED LESSONS IN BASSOON
Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in music performance or music education with a principal instrument in bassoon.

Two years college experience in teaching bassoon.

Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

PRIVATE APPLIED LESSONS IN SAXOPHONE
Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in music performance or music education with a principal instrument in saxophone.

Two years college experience in teaching saxophone.

PRIVATE APPLIED LESSONS IN DOUBLE BASS
Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in music performance or music education with a principal instrument in double bass.

Two years college experience in teaching double bass.

MUSIC APPRECIATION
Minimum Requirement:

Master’s degree in music, preferably majoring in musicology.

Two years college experience in teaching music appreciation and music history courses.

Experience in various teaching modes; in-person and virtual.
