Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming living spaces by applying high-quality paint finishes that enhance the aesthetic appeal and protect residential structures. Your expertise will ensure surfaces are properly prepared, painted with precision, and finished to meet client expectations. Responsibilities
- Prepare interior and exterior surfaces through cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and durability
- Apply paint using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying), and conventional spray methods
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to accurately execute painting projects
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely to reach high or hard-to-access areas
- Perform structural painting tasks such as masonry sealing, plastering, and coating applications on different surfaces
- Conduct surface preparation for construction and renovation projects to meet safety regulations and quality standards
- Select appropriate paints, coatings, colors (utilizing knowledge of color theory), and finishes based on project requirements
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials in accordance with safety protocols
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to all safety protocol guidelines during all phases of work
Skills
- Extensive experience in residential painting with knowledge of construction site procedures
- Proficiency in construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and materials needed
- Strong understanding of color theory for effective visual color comparison and matching
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and other application equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface preparation instructions
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection and fall prevention measures
- Experience with renovation projects involving trim carpentry, fixture installation, framing, masonry, plastering, caulking, remodeling, maintenance or industrial painting is a plus
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities accurately
- Capable of working at heights using ladders or scaffolding safely while maintaining productivity and quality standards
