About Prosper Management Group
Prosper Management Group is a property management firm based in Charleston, SC
We desire to make property management amazing.
It means creating an experience where our owners, residents, and team members are consistently amazed. That means doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest option. And it means building a team that enjoys the work, supports each other, and takes pride in doing things well.
We’re a growing company but care deeply about how we operate. We’re intentional about our processes, our communication, and the experience we deliver--and we’re looking for people who want to be part of building something amazing.
The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, organized, people-first professional to join our team as an Assistant Property Manager.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the center of our day-to-day operations. You’ll manage the resident experience from lease signing through move-out, keep maintenance workflows moving, and support the entire team in delivering a seamless, high-quality experience.
This is not a passive support role. You’ll be expected to take initiative, communicate proactively, and follow through consistently.
You’ll wear multiple hats throughout the day – switching between resident communication, maintenance coordination, leasing, and internal operations. Success in this role requires someone who can stay organized, think on their feet, and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll regularly encounter situations that don’t have a clear playbook. We’re looking for someone who can think critically, solve problems in real time, and take ownership of getting to a resolution – not just escalate issues.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership naturally, enjoys solving problems, and is motivated to grow into full responsibility for a portfolio over time.
Growth Opportunity
This role is designed as a path to a full Property Manager position.
Over time, you’ll take on increasing responsibility with the goal of fully owning a portfolio – managing owner relationships, overseeing operations, and being accountable for performance.
We believe there’s real value in learning the Prosper way from the ground up. The right person will be given the opportunity to grow quickly, but that growth is earned through strong performance, good judgment, and consistent follow-through.
What You’ll Own
Resident Relations
Be the primary point of contact for residents. Manage communication, set expectations, resolve issues, and build relationships that lead to strong renewals.
Maintenance Oversight
Own the maintenance process end-to-end. Triage work orders, prioritize urgent issues, coordinate vendors, and ensure timely resolution. Follow-up and accountability are critical. We have additional resources here but you own making sure issues are taken care of!
Leasing
Guide prospective residents through the leasing process--from application to move-in--ensuring a smooth, well-organized experience.
Operations Support
Support the team with renewals, vacates, delinquency, etc. Do what’s needed to keep the portfolio running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in property management is a plus, but not required
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems – we rely heavily on software to operate efficiently
- Background in real estate, hospitality, customer service, or another fast-paced, client-facing role preferred
- Willingness and ability to obtain a South Carolina property management license (we’ll support you in the process)
- Strong communicator – clear, professional, and composed under pressure
- Strong problem-solver who can assess situations, make decisions, and drive issues to resolution
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable holding vendors and residents accountable with professionalism and confidence
- Able to manage multiple priorities and shift between tasks quickly without losing momentum
Compensation & Growth
- Competitive salary based on experience ($48,000-$65,000)
- Clear path to increased responsibility and portfolio ownership
- Opportunity to grow with a company that’s actively building something better
Final Note from Our Owner
We exist to make property management amazing – and that starts with our team.
This role comes with real responsibility and real opportunity. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, solve problems, and contribute in a meaningful way from day one.
If you tend to wait for direction instead of taking the initiative to solve problems, this role won’t be the right fit.
If you take pride in your work, follow through, and want to grow into a role where you are extremely valued, please apply.
