Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental care, ensuring smooth clinic workflows, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patients. Responsibilities
- Setting up dental instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various dental treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
- Manage patient records efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Provide pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients, explaining procedures clearly and addressing concerns with professionalism.
- Report patient conditions accurately to the dental team, including any changes or concerns observed during appointments.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards, including manual handling of sterilization processes and clinical waste disposal.
- Support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and communicating effectively with clients about treatment plans.
- Assist in health education efforts by providing patients with oral hygiene instructions and preventive care advice.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within a dental or medical setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and diagnostic radiology techniques.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) management systems and medical documentation practices.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, manual handling procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety standards.
