Salary:
$20 per hour
8-24 hours per week (flexible), 16 weeks (flexible)
This position will support the City’s Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB) program by assisting with events, community outreach and education, and administrative program support. We are looking for an individual with a passion for helping their community reduce waste generation and prevent litter. The Associate will support events and programs including (but not limited to) community litter cleanups, upcycling workshops, high school education programs, Adopt-a-Street cleanups, recycling collection events, the Trash 2 Trends fundraiser, and restaurant and business outreach. Help us further our mission to “educate and empower Orlando to reduce and reuse”.
Saturday morning (8am to 12pm) availability is required for this position. Associates can expect to work 2 Saturdays per month. Weekday shifts may be scheduled during the day or evening, depending on KOB events and the Associate’s availability. This position will not work on Sundays. Scheduled shifts will be determined with the Associate no later than 2 weeks in advance.
Responsibilities:

Assist with operational and administrative tasks as assigned

Independently run community litter cleanups, positively representing the City of Orlando and KOB, and ensure volunteering safety

Conduct educational programs in formal and informal settings (i.e. community tabling events, hands-on workshops)

Respond to public inquiries about Keep Orlando Beautiful programs and events
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of public speaking or customer service experience required. Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Saturday morning availability required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous volunteer experience with or academic coursework in one of the following: biology, ecology, environmental sciences, sustainability, or community services

Experience working events and/or managing volunteers

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
