Let’s Play!, run by MSYSA, is seeking motivated and enthusiastic candidates to join the coach-mentor team. The program will operate in Silver Spring or surrounding areas. Programs will be from September-November and run Monday-Friday for 6-8 weeks.
The available positions require outgoing and caring individuals with the ability to lead kids in a positive learning environment centered on soccer and self-improvement/character development.

Responsibilities Include:
- Attend all practices (once per week or more depending on location) for a daily commitment of up to 2 hours (1:45-3:45pm/3:00 pm-5:00– typical timeframe)
- Record, track, and execute Let’s Play’s 8-week curriculum
- Supervise and guide lesson/session delivery
- Work with other coaches and volunteers to create a positive learning environment
- Engage in communication with parents/guardians to express program expectations
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED or International Equivalent preferred but not required/ Some College a plus.
- Minimum Experience: Previous experience working with kids or experience coaching soccer preferred but not required
- Passion for and experience with urban education, health education, youth development, and sports are a plus but not required.
- Competent in leading (25-40) students, ages 6-11, through sports and life-teaching moments
- Language Skill(s): English
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with school and Let's Play! staff, Let's Play! Coordinators, parents, and players.

Special Requirements
- New hires are subject to a criminal background check (paid by MSYSA).
- New hires must complete SafeSport and Heads Up Concussion training in addition to program training (Approx. 3-4 hours of total training) and one in person field training. A training stipend will be awarded (at the end of season) to all coach-mentors who complete all required training, compliance requirements, and finish the Let's Play! season.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
