New River Valley Community Services is seeking a Regional Peer Recovery Specialist! The Regional Peer Recovery Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals in recovery and their families through the planning, development, and implementation of training and support activities. This position includes weekly visits to Marion State Hospital to facilitate group activities, provide peer support, and coordinate discharge planning with a multidisciplinary treatment team. The Specialist also leads a Regional Recovery Steering Committee, organizes monthly recovery support meetings, and builds strong partnerships with community recovery programs and advocacy organizations.
***$1,000 Sign on Bonus***
Starting Hourly Rate: $17.29-$19.88
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate's degree in human services or related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.
Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify a year in recovery.
