Who We're Looking For
Katie's Way is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing Colorado Springs team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about patient-centered care, values collaboration, and is committed to improving mental health outcomes. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside psychiatrists, therapists, TMS technicians, Practice Managers, and regional leadership to deliver exceptional care to the patients we serve.
Candidates who are already credentialed with TRICARE, the VA Community Care Network, or who have experience serving military populations are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position Summary
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment for patients experiencing a wide range of behavioral health concerns, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, mood disorders, and related conditions.
This provider will play a key role in developing individualized treatment plans and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure patients receive comprehensive, evidence-based care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications
- Evaluate patients for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment and oversee treatment plans as appropriate
- Provide brief psychotherapy and supportive counseling during patient encounters
- Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care and treatment progress
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and family members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and expected outcomes
- Participate in case consultations, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support clinic operations and participate in community outreach, education, or public presentations when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with all applicable clinical, regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice
Qualifications Required
- Active and unrestricted Colorado APRN license
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority eligibility
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Authorization to practice in collaboration with a supervising psychiatrist as required by state regulations
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, trauma-related disorders, and mood disorders
- Experience serving military members, veterans, first responders, and their families
- Experience with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) or willingness to receive specialized training
- Current credentialing with TRICARE, VA Community Care Network, Medicare, Medicaid, and/or major commercial insurance carriers
- Candidates already credentialed or actively in the credentialing process with a clear timeline to independent billing are highly preferred
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric practice

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
