Job Description: Director of Sales / Director of Community Relations
Reports To: Regional VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development

Position Summary
The Director of Sales (also known as Director of Community Relations) is responsible for driving occupancy and revenue growth within the assisted living community through strategic sales initiatives, relationship building, and exceptional customer service. This role leads the sales process from initial inquiry through move-in, ensuring prospective residents and families experience a supportive, compassionate, and informative decision-making journey. The Director of Sales works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to meet or exceed occupancy and census goals while representing the community’s mission, values, and standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Marketing
- Develop, implement, and execute the community’s sales and marketing plan to achieve and maintain budgeted occupancy goals.
- Manage the full sales cycle: respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct tours, follow up with leads, and guide families through the decision-making process.
- Track leads, inquiries, and conversion rates using the community’s CRM system; maintain accurate and timely records.
- Partner with the corporate sales/marketing team to ensure consistent brand messaging and community visibility.
Community Outreach & Relationship Building
- Cultivate relationships with referral sources, including healthcare providers, senior organizations, local businesses, and community partners.
- Represent the community at networking events, health fairs, professional associations, and community activities.
- Host and coordinate marketing events, open houses, and educational seminars that showcase the community.
Customer Experience
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective residents and their families, demonstrating empathy, expertise, and trustworthiness.
- Support families in navigating financial options, levels of care, and transition needs.
- Partner with the operations and care teams to ensure a smooth and welcoming move-in experience.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the Executive Director and department heads to align sales strategies with community capabilities and resident satisfaction.
- Analyze sales reports and market trends to adjust strategies and remain competitive.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on occupancy, pipeline activity, and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or business development; senior living, healthcare, or hospitality industry strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and building lasting relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation Package
- Includes salary $65,000 plus commission and bonus.
