\Responsibilities:

Advise public and private educational institutions on employment law matters, including employee discipline, termination, leave policies, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations
- Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation involving employee claims
- Draft and review employment-related agreements, board policies, and internal procedures for compliance with applicable state and federal laws
- Conduct trainings and workshops for administrators and staff on employment best practices and legal obligations
- Stay current on developments in labor and employment law as they relate to the education sector
- Work collaboratively with education law attorneys, school boards, and HR professionals to develop proactive legal strategies
Qualifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar
- Minimum of 4 years of employment law experience, with at least 2 years advising or representing educational institutions
- Familiarity with the Education Code, Title IX, California Government Code, and applicable labor and employment statutes
- Strong writing, advocacy, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with school boards, superintendents, and HR personnel is preferred
- MUST be based in California
