Overview
Caregiver/Personal Care Assistants make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities. This vital role involves providing personalized care, promoting independence, and ensuring safety. in various settings. This position is for a Private Duty In-home Caregiver for a Veteran requiring daily assistance as a result of a dementia diagnosis.
Responsibilities
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support individual with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care, through personalized engagement and safety measures
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social interaction and mental well-being
- Assist with meal preparation to meet dietary needs and preferences
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Strong knowledge of ADLs assistance, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and behavioral management techniques
- Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications; preferred
This position is to be paid bi-weekly via direct deposit, must be able to pass a background check, have reliable transportation, and proven dependability. Must be comfortable around dogs and cats. Male caregivers encouraged to apply, however, all applicants will be considered.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
