Job Overview
The Part-Time Youth Service Worker provides direct care and supervision to youth residing in a therapeutic group home. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment that promotes emotional growth, stability, and positive life skills for youth with behavioral and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily supervision, support, and guidance to youth in accordance with individualized treatment plans
- Assist youth with daily living activities including routines, hygiene, meals, homework, and recreation
- Model appropriate behavior and support positive social and emotional development
- Maintain safety and structure while using trauma informed and de escalation techniques
- Document daily observations, incidents, and progress notes in accordance with agency and licensing requirements
- Transport youth to school, appointments, and community activities as needed
- Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, schools, and families to support treatment goals
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations following established protocols
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with youth in residential, behavioral health, foster care, or social service settings
- Training or coursework in social work, psychology, education, or related field
- Experience with trauma informed care, crisis intervention, or behavioral support
Physical and Emotional Requirements
- Ability to remain alert, active, and engaged throughout assigned shifts
- Ability to respond to behavioral crises and use approved physical intervention techniques if necessary
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
