One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of San Diego is looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who can manage installations from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates well, and can help develop installers and apprentices.
What You’ll Do
- Lead residential and light-commercial HVAC installations
- Work hands-on alongside helpers and junior installers
- Coordinate equipment, materials, tools, and daily job requirements
- Ensure installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes
- Complete system startups, commissioning, and final quality-control checks
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Complete job documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, office staff, and management
- Train and mentor apprentices and developing installers
- Identify installation concerns and communicate solutions before they become problems

- $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience

Required Qualifications
- At least three years of residential HVAC installation experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead complete HVAC installations
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of HVAC installation work
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising helpers or installation crews
- EPA Section 608 certification
- NATE certification
- Experience with heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, package units, and ductwork
- Familiarity with permitting, inspections, startup procedures, and commissioning documentation
