We're partnering with an innovative company in the autonomous sensing, robotics, and advanced manufacturing industry to hire a Manufacturing Engineer – Equipment & Test Software. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop software for manufacturing equipment, improve production processes, and support the transition of new products into high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain software for manufacturing equipment and automated test systems.
· Design, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling for high-volume production.
· Improve process capability, equipment performance, and production throughput.
· Collaborate with design engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) objectives are met.
· Support sustaining products through design improvements and process enhancements.
· Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform failure analysis, and implement corrective actions.
· Support manufacturing readiness and equipment deployment.
· Travel internationally as needed to support manufacturing partners.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
· 3+ years of experience developing production-quality software, preferably in Python, that interfaces with hardware or processes high-volume data.
· Strong Python programming skills, including decorators, higher-order functions, context managers, and custom exceptions.
· Experience communicating with laboratory or manufacturing equipment using protocols such as SCPI, PyVISA, RS-232/485, TCP/IP, or Modbus.
· Experience working in Linux/Unix, Git, and Docker environments.
· Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, SQLite, MariaDB, or similar) for manufacturing data collection and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or hardware simulation/digital twin development.
· Familiarity with optical systems, cameras, laser safety, or OpenCV.
· Experience supporting manufacturing lines, production equipment, or hardware prototyping within the electronics, robotics, automotive, or advanced manufacturing industries.
