Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Support kitchen team members during busy service periods by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing feedback on ingredient availability and dish execution
- Assist with catering functions and special event meal preparations as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food industry setting, including restaurant or catering environments, is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
