A Fresh Start Baker makesmake a wide range of desserts, pastries, breads and other baked goods and also makes sandwiches, salads, soups, and other food items.
A Baker is knowledgeable of recipes and recipe development; an expert in weighing and measuring ingredients in accordance with developed recipes; and adept at using commercial equipment, such as ovens, mixers, proofing cabinets, etc.
Responsibilities include:
· Preparing products by properly executing following proven recipes,
· Meeting (exceeding) quality and hospitality standards,
· Complying with Fresh Start operating procedures,
· Using kitchen equipment and maintaining food storage in accordance with federal, state and local safety and health regulations,
· Keeping kitchen areas and all pots, pans, supplies and equipment washed, cleaned and stored in accordance with health and sanitation standards,
· Recommending changes to existing and assisting in the development and testing of new recipes, and
· Other duties as assigned.

ServSafe Food Management Certified with 3+ years commercial bakery experience and/or 2 years culinary school with concentration in Pastry preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a commercial kitchen that encompasses numerous styles and techniques resulting in output in accordance with tight production schedules and daily production goals.
Work requires a flexible schedule & weekend availability. Work is occasionally done alone during early morning hours, so it is ideal for a true morning person.
The work also requires frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) easily and often.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
